Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (GAME)

358/2 Days is the 4th Kingdom Hearts game, now featuring Roxas during the year Sora was awake, and Roxas was in the organization.

One of the things I noticed about the game was that the dialog and story is a lot more matured, which is a good thing. Hopefully more KH games in the future will be like this, matured and more story-based.
Most characters are likable, with the exception of Larxene... Still though, most characters play great, and they're great in story mode. My favorite Organization member aside from Roxas and Xion has got to be Xigbar. He just has some hilarious quotes, just like Demyx.

Of course though, what's a game based solely on story when there's still gameplay? Well sadly I can't say it's improved from KH2 really, because it isn't. One bad thing I have to say it that there's NO new levels. I mean, come on, that's just lazy. I can only play around the same levels so many times. But whatever, despite no new levels it's PS2 game on DS, and it's done great. Seriously, the graphics are AMAZING for a DS game, a few times it slows down here and there, but it's still great. And hey, at least the combat's not cards, right?

And lastly, the music for the game is always living up to KH standards. It's great as always, with my personal favorite "Xion Theme".

Overall: 9/10
Comments: No new levels is a major downfall, but story, character, and gameplay is basically what makes the game.

9 (MOVIE)

9 is short. So short it's almost hard to review it. You can't exactly get into the characters because it's so short. But here I go and try.

Okay the basic plot of the movie is that there was a war against machines, machine's won, scientist creates rag dolls to help save the world.

Well there's 9 of them, of course, and sadly, only 5 are actually likable. Seriously, if you're making a movie, try to actually have characters that you can actually care about. 1's a douche bag, 2 is barely in it, 3 and 4 are cool, but don't talk, 5 is actually likable, 6 is INSANE, 7's badass, 8 is just stupid, and 9 isn't a great hero, but he's cool.

The voice acting isn't anything spectacular, Elijah Wood and John C. Reilly did a great job worth mentioning though.

So I guess I could just keep going on saying everything is good, but not phenomenal, the music is good, but I wasn't exactly going out too buy the soundtrack.

Bottom line, it's good, but it's a disappointment because it could've been so much better if it was longer.

Dissidia Final Fantasy (GAME)

Dissidia is a must need for PSP owners. If you love Final Fantasy, get it, don't even stop and think about it. If you don't, still get it, it shouldn't be missed out.

Dissidia brings back the main heroes/villains from the first 10 games, and 2 hidden characters. One from 11 and one from 12. They're brought together from a conflict between Cosmos and Chaos, light and darkness. And for a PSP game, it's huge. There are 22 characters too play as, 24 levels to go too, and a huge story mode. There's just so much to do.

Even though it's a huge game, there are a few things to say. The graphics are great, but in cutscenes the expressions on the faces look... well, bad.
But it really makes up for it in voice acting and gameplay. All of the voice acting is just great. Everyone is top notch.

Gameplay is extremely fun, you'll find yourself playing for a long time, I haven't tried online, but I can see that being really, really fun. Bottom line, it's great fun.

Another thing is, even though there's plenty of characters, some feel a lot better than others. Everything should be evened out, but there's just plenty of characters that feel unfair. For example, Golbez. He's not slow, he's strong, but he nearly always get you. He just doesn't seem fair. Chaos is also really evened out. He's not playable, and he's only a boss, but when you fight him he's extremely strong, fast, and he can attack you from almost anywhere, in the small area you're in.

Overall: 9/10

Funny People

Funny People isn't what you'd expect. With Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen you're most likely expecting a hilarious comedy, but instead what you're really getting is a drama with humor put in at times. But that being said, it's not a bad thing, it's actually a good thing.

One thing about the movie that it was longer than I expected, it was around two and a half hours long, while some points not holding my attention. For example, George and Ira at Laura's house seemed to drag on just a little too much, and a lot of other scenes could've been cut down.

The movie is written and directed by Judd Apatow so you're going to get really likable characters, that are really funny. Maybe not ALWAYS hilarious in the movie, the comedy scenes are really good. Adam Sandler plays George perfectly, him acting doesn't seem like a movie, it seems real. Seth Rogen also fits his role, the guy who hopes too be a comedian, with the help of George, while Ira helps George himself.

One small thing I'll add before ending this review was there were a lot of great cameos in this movie. Norm McDonald, Ray Romano, Andy Dick, and Justin Long are a few to name. Those are the only cameos I really loved, but I had too mention it.

Overall: 7/10
Pros:
Surprisingly sad, funny when it wants too be, everyone is lovable
Cons: Perhaps a bit too long

GAME: No More Heroes

No More Heroes follows the story of Travis Touchdown, trying to be the #1 assassin there is, killing everyone who gets in his way.

Story/Characters. The game has a funny story, with very lovable characters. Every character is crazy, but that's what's so great about them. Travis kills all these people so he can have sex with Sylvia, and so he can get paid, as well as other people just killing for the hell of it. Each voice actor pulls off the role perfectly.

Gameplay. Killing the enemies in the game is fun, and very brutal. It's a little repetitive, but still very fun. Although one thing about the gameplay is the world you get to explore. It's made terribly. You can't interact with anything besides your bike, falling off your bike is really annoying and happens frequently, doing side jobs is boring, and it takes up a lot of the game. As for the graphics, they're just great. Cel-shaded graphics are fantastic, there's nothing wrong with it.

Music. The game's theme song is so eerie sounding, and mysterious, and it's really catchy at first. But then it goes on in the game way to much. If you're not fighting a boss, this song will play with a different tempo, and it gets annoying. But the boss battle songs are amazing, so I guess that makes up for it.

Overall: 7.5
Pros: Funny, great characters, killing enemies is some of the most fun in a game, great boss battles with great music
Cons: Theme song is played too often, open world just really sucks, paying for each mission
Last Comments: Playing the actual game is great, but the open-world has too big of a part of the game

GAME: Shadow The Hedgehog

Shadow The Hedgehog was what started the rain of bad Sonic games. Everyone knows Sonic. He's a video game icon. Everybody loved him. But now, if you like a Sonic game, you should visit a doctor because there's something wrong with you. I mean, this game is in the Sonic universe, but not about Sonic. But who really thought of this idea? Let's give Shadow guns! Because that's cool! But I guess this review isn't about the history of Sonic, it's about Shadow and this game.

Story/Characters. The story is Shadow wakes up with no memory of his past, except brief images of a girl named Maria. After meeting Black Doom, he realizes the way to remember his past is too collect the chaos emeralds. Not really a new concept, and not executed well, put in with boring really annoying characters. Seriously, the game's slogan is Hero or Villain? You Decide. But the majority of the time you'll play as "normal" A.K.A neither. The heroes have really annoying personalities, but with annoying voice actors. They're all annoying. But than again, the villains over-act. They have to deepen their voices so much to make you know they're evil. I mean, shouldn't you just KNOW they're evil by looking at them?

Gameplay. Playing this game is really annoying. The controls are bad, guns are a stupid idea for a Sonic related game, the jumping is bad, there's too many enemies, the Hero vs Villain thing is executed terribly, and the graphics suck. I really don't understand this Hero or Villain thing. Several times when I was on the evil side I was shot at by my own team. Hell, I was shot at by everyone. It's just really annoying when everyone's trying to kill you. The game has too much going on. And for the graphics, sure, it was back in 2005, but in 2005 there were plenty of games with good graphics for it's time. Hell, Metal Gear Solid 3 was released a year earlier, Final Fantasy X was released 4 years earlier. I don't get it. I figure the developers were just lazy.

Music. As far as Sonic games go, the music is usually one of the only good things about them, and I guess the music was passable. Some of the songs suck, some of them are great.

Overall: 4/10
Pros:
Okay music, Shadow is kinda cool

Cons: Annoying characters, bad controls, shooting is terrible, poorly executed story, terrible graphics, bad voice acting, seriously, who thought a Sonic related game with guns would be a GOOD idea?

MOVIE: American Beauty

American Beauty is about Lester Burnham, a depressed father who decides to change his life after meeting his daughter's attractive friend.

Story/Characters. The story is inntriguing, with an odd concept, and it's pulled off very well. Almost every character in the movie was lovable. Ricky Fitts (Wes Bentlly) was the odd character who is just so odd he's interesting. Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) is the character who just tells everybody in the movie what they don't want too hear, but the way he says it so casually is great. He's such a jerk, and he's so great. Every character was pulled off great.

The Music. For this movie, the music wasn't something I really payed attention to, but for some scenes when I heard it, I enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it was the best choice, but the songs were good.

Overall: 8.5/10
Pros: Each actor pulls off their characters great, funny, There needs to be more characters like Lester, great ending

Cons: Carolyn is just annoying.

ALBUM: Street Sweeper Social Club

Street Sweeper Social Club is the debut album by Tom Morello and Boots Riley's new Rap Rock band "Street Sweeper Social Club"

The album is great, keeping me entertained by Boot's great singing combined with Tom playing guitar, that being mixed is awesome. Every song on the album is catchy, fast, and perfect.

I'd recommend getting it, considering it's one of the best albums this year that I've heard.

Overall: 8
Best songs:
Somewhere In The World It's Midnight, The Oath, Promenade

GAME: Shadow Of The Colossus

Shadow Of The Colossus is about Wander, who's trying to resurrect Mono... because she's dead? This game is so mysterious I don't know what to say.

The Gameplay. The graphics are probably up there with Metal Gear Solid 3 as the best for the PS2, but that being said, graphics don't make a game good. There's little to kill the Colossi with, you've got a sword to stab them with, and an arrow to distract them with. The fights with the colossi are fast and great for the first while, but after about 5 fights are so they really get boring. There isn't much to say about the controls, the camera is annoying to move at times, but that's about it.

Story/Characters. Yeah, there isn't much story too it. Wander barely talks because there's almost no one to interact with, so it doesn't make me like him. The story is pretty straight forward and nothing special.

Music. The music is great, beautiful orchestrated music, which is very relaxing.

Overall: 6/10
Pros: Fighting colossi is really fun the first couple of fights, amazing graphics, soothing music

Cons:
No backstory, characters are hard to like when there's little known about them, the fights get boring after a while, travelling from colossi is very boring

MOVIE: Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa

Conqueror Of Shamballa starts 2 years after the series ended, with Al trying to find Ed, and Ed trying to get back to his own world.

The Animation. I'm glad the movie kept the show's animation. The show's animation helped in making some great action scenes, and the movie follows what the show did. Have great action scenes.

Story/Characters. The story is what I expected, and that's not bad, that's great. Bringing back some great characters in ways I didn't expect, and even adding in some cool new ones. One of the great things was the fact that the characters had the same voice actors from the show. And they all did their job really great.

The Music. The majority of the music was orchestra, which fit the scenes and made them perfect. Although, some of the music was Japanese, I mean, it's not like I hated it, but I figure if I knew what the singer was saying I'd like it more. Oh well.

Overall: 8
Pros:
Great action scenes, same characters, perfect way to end the series, bringing back some great characters, good voice acting, same animation from the show
Cons: I'd like too see Tucker, some of the music wasn't really in my taste

GAME: inFAMOUS

inFAMOUS is a PS3 exclusive about Cole MacGrath, a bike courier who delivers an a bomb, nearly wiping out Empire City. Cole survives the explosion, and gets electric powers.

The Characters. All of them are likable. The comic-relief character "Zeke" to the crazy "Kessler". But the thing is, they're all likable. I cared about the characters that died, and I enjoyed whenever some characters were in the game. Every character was great.

The Story. The story for the game was really great. I played the good karma, so I'm not exactly sure if the evil karma changes the game. But from playing as good, it was really great. I can't write a review without including that the ending for inFAMOUS was probably one of the best endings I've ever seen.

The Gameplay. The controls were great, making great fights against the Reapers/Dust Men/The First Sons to climbing up walls and then flying off them. The controlls make great boss fights (Though there could've been more of those). The graphics were great. The way Cole moves around is very realistic and fun. The karma decision is a little bad at times, but the majority of times it's good. For example, I restored power to a district and that made me "a little more evil". Also, I hear a lot of bad things about the cutscenes. What's wrong with them? I think they really add to the comic-book feel of the game.

The Music. If you watch the gameplay trailer and think "Wow, this song is great", you'll be surprised too find a lot of the music is like this. It's all just so dark and fits the mood for the game.

Overall: 9.5
Pros: Great characters, great replay value, cutscenes are terrific, story may have one of the best plot twists, music is dark and fits the mood, side missions are fun, running around the city is fun, great combat held together with a lot of cool powers
Cons: Some jumping glitches, online play would've been nice

MOVIE: Transformers 2

Transformers 2 wasn't good. It was bad. I guess I can say I enjoyed the first movie, but this one kinda turned me off.

The movie is basically about the Transformers now working with the army to stop the Decepticons from coming back to Earth. But because this might seem a little scary for people, they try to cover it up. Remember the huge fight in the city for the first movie? Yeah, well that's a huge cover up. All those millions of people saw nothing. And that's how you know the movie you're watching is going to be badly written.

Transformers 2 did something that made me think "Wow, what were they thinking". They made a few characters the "Hilarious Characters". There was at least 5 characters that were in the movie just to make dumb jokes. It was stupid and unneeded.

Now I really can't express this enough. But there was way too much going on. Robots and explosions were everywhere, and the camera was too close to it all, and it looked like a disaster. I didn't understand what was going on.

Overall: 5
Pros: Amazing special effects, The twins were funny at times, when the camera is steady the action scenes are actually somewhat tolerable
Cons: Bad camera, very anticlimactic, annoying characters, bad soundtrack, too long

MOVIE: American Psycho

American Psycho is a thriller featuring Christian Bale. Aaaaand I can't really say the plot, because I can't think of what to say because I'm bad at explaining this movie without copying word-for-word off of IMDB.

The characters are some of the best. Patrick Bateman has a funny thing about him. Just the way he talks, walks around, and goes on about business cards. He's just so lovable and it's weird that I'm rooting for him when he kills people. All of Patrick's friend's are hilarious, even if it's not intended.

The music for the movie was really odd, but was really good. "Hip To Be Square" being played while killing somebody was actually really funny and great. That being said, I'm listening to that song while listening to this song.

I guess there isn't a lot I can say about this movie, which is odd because I had a lot planned out. But oh well.

Overall:8/10
Pros: Great villain, music is really catchy, great humor
Cons: Dialog comes out a little garbled from Christian Bale when yelling, confusing ending

MOVIE: Hotel For Dogs

I always think of this very weird. Hotel For Dogs was first a book made by Lois Duncan, who also made I Know What You Did Last Summer. In case you don't know what IKWYDLS is, it's a suspense book, made into a horror movie, which received pretty bad reviews. Funny how she made a children's book, and then went on too suspense books. But anyways...

The movie was pretty bad. The cast was bad, (Aside from Don Cheadle that is, the acting was brutal, the music was terrible, and everything was garbage.
Except for those cute dogs.

It's hard to go into how bad the acting was because it was also the dialog that was bad. So screw the writers.

The music was just plain bad having a soundtrack made by The Naked Brothers Band, where could you possibly think you made a good idea?

There's not much too say about this movie except I hated it.
2/10
Pros:
Don Cheatle, dogs
Cons Everything else

GAME: Mirror's Edge

Man, everything about this game looked awesome. The demo was fun, the trailer was great, and I heard some great things about it. And then I played it.

I can't really say it's a bad game, because it is fun. But it was just a really, really big disappointment. I mean, running around was fun, but right when it began getting really good, the police showed up. And that really ruined the fun. It's like the game focused everything on graphics and running, but forgot that they had combat involved in the game so they put in something really last minute. The game said the best thing is too just run away from fighting, but you are literally put in the position where you NEED to fight, or you're going to get shot down. Which happened a lot to me. It gets frustrating.

One thing that was impressive though was the graphics. Graphics never make a game, and here is no exception, but they were good. And the music was great also, it was all fit to the scenes, and it worked.

The story was alright though. I mean, it's not memorable, and at times it's confusing and poorly executed. The characters in the game were just really plain and boring. I felt like I didn't really care about them.

Overall, I would give it a 6.5
Pros: Fun running, great graphics, and awesome cutscenes
Cons: Bad combat, annoying police, boring characters, and poor story.

MOVIE: Terminator Salvation

Now, I didn't know a lot about Terminator before I saw the trailer. I didn't see any of the movies. None of the show. Nothing.
So I decided to watch the first 3.
Number 1 and 2 were some of the best movies ever made. With #2 probably being one of the best sequels of all time (With Back To The Future Part II, The Dark Knight, and Star Wars Episode 5). And then there's 3. Three wasn't necessarily a bad movie, in fact, I enjoyed it. It's just... Really unnecessary.

But this isn't a Terminator series review. It's a review of this movie.

Basically the movie is about the Man vs Robot war in the year 2018, with John Connor being the leader of the resistance against the robots. But wait, you say you want a movie about John Connor, the series main character? Well too bad. This movie is about Marcus Wright. Marcus Wright is a man who is put for the death penalty (But it's never said WHAT he did.) and decides to donate his body to medical research, turning him into a robot in the future. And yeah, you get the picture.

Well, the music of the movie was cool I guess, I mean "You Could Be Mine" by Guns N' Roses is played in the movie, and "The Day The World Went Away" by Nine Inch Nails is in the trailer. But aside from that, the movie doesn't have a really notable soundtrack.

The writing is pretty mediocre. I mean, seriously, 1.What the hell does Marcus Wright have to do with the series, other than make more plot holes? 2. What the hell did Marcus do? If he got the death penalty, he must've done something big, but it's never revealed. 3. Who is Kyle Reese's friend? She doesn't say, or do anything. Why is she there? 4. Why are they NOT centering the movie around JOHN CONNOR? John Connor is shown throughout the whole trailer, with just little mentions of Marcus. We kinda expected John to be the main character.

The acting was good, but should've been better. I mean, we have Christian Bale in here, one of the best actors out now. But the thing is, Bale was impersonating Batman the whole movie. He was using a very similar bad, deep voice, and it just wasn't the role of John Connor. Alton Yelchin was awesome. He's cool. Case closed.

The action scenes were great. I mean, T1,2, and 3 were great because you got to see modern things being blown up, but here EVERYTHING is blown up, but they still pulled off being pretty good with action scenes. The one thing Terminator will never lose. Badass action scenes.

Overall, I guess the whole review I was nitpicking, but the truth was, it was good. I mean, better than T3 no doubt. 2>1>3>4.
7/10
Overall:
It was good, but it's nothing special.

MOVIE: Up

Up is Disney Pixar's newest movie about an old man who travels to find a secret land. And it is probably Disney Pixar's second darkest movie yet (behind Wall-E). 2 reasons, A) First blood shown by a human in a DP movie. B)IT WAS SO UPSETTING.
But that isn't a review, so I'm gonna make a real one now.

First, the music. The music wasn't actually something I payed a lot of attention too, unfortunatly. But from what I did hear (The beginning scene, some action scenes) it was amazing.

Secondly, the characters. I guess I could admit I was a bit scepticle about the main character being 78 years old. I figured he would be the average, grumpy grandpa. But I actually didn't see him being like that, although there were certain parts where he was. Now for Russle, I got to admit, he might be my least favorite character because I found him to be annoying a little, but he was still cool. And for Doug. Oh god. Doug was cute.

Lastly, the storyline. I really thought this might've had the best storyline for a Disney Pixar movie, with sad scenes, funny scenes, and the scenes where you go "YEAHYEAHYEAHYEAH". Every sad scene was sad (REALLY SAD), every funny scene was funny, and every YEAHYEAHYEAHYEAH scene were awesome.

This might be the worst review I've given, probably not helping, but oh well. Point is I give the movie a 9.5/10

MOVIE: Dragonball Evolution

Okay yeah it sucked.

The acting was bad, the story was terrible, the characters were changed to suck a lot. (I.E: Bulma is now a whore, Goku is now annoying) and god so much more.

Honestly, the acting was one of the worst I've ever seen in a movie ever, the characters were damn annoying.

The only scene I was cool of was when Goku fights the bullies without laying a hand on them.
And honestly, that's one of the ONLY good parts.
It basically goes down to this; the majority of scenes are bad, one cool scene, the other's aren't that bad.

GAME: The World Ends With You

Beat it like 3 months ago.
Gonna review it now.

LET'S GOOOOO

First, Gameplay: Man, REALLY REALLY different combat. It takes time to get used to, but once you start getting used to it it'll be one of the coolest things in a videogame EVER.
Double combat seems like it'd be a complicated thing, but once you do a few battles against Noise it'll be a fun experience.

Second, Soundtrack: All I hear from reviews is "Amazing", "Fantastic" or "Extremely Catchy".
I disagree. Yes, it was good. Yes, it WAS catchy (Though extremely is a pretty big word for it) What I would call it is... Great. Not Amazing. Just great.

Third, Storyline: Man. It was great. Full of plot twists that keep you hooked. Just amazing.

Last, Characters: Okay bottom line I loved most of them (Shiki is the one I hate).
All of the characters are really loveable and just so... Interesting. If I had to I'd say Joshua would be my favorite. He's pretty cool.

So overall my favorite Square Enix game WAS Kingdom Hearts II or Final Fantasy X (Yes it was originally Square at the time, but I don't care) but I'd have to say TWEWY tops both.

10/10

MOVIE: The Curius Case Of Benjamin Button

I should start off by saying it was just amazing.
Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a while (Meaning the day before I saw a Futurama movie which was also the best in a while... About a month before that I saw The Butterfly Effect... Which was also one of the best I've seen in a while)

So, back on topic, I loved it a lot.
The movie is about a man who ages backwards, if you didn't know that you've been living under a rock.
I really just liked everything about this movie, the acting was amazing, the music was great, the makeup used on Brad Pitt was pretty good. (So good that it made me think a 17 year old Brad Pitt was sexy).

Really, words cannot describe it. It was just as it is. An amazing movie.
Overall, 9/10.

ALBUM: Strawberry Jam

Wow, I've been slacking!
I thought I would review EVERYTHING I see/play/listen.

Guess not.
I'll just go review an album now.

Strawberry Jam by Animal Collective!
Now, I'll go off saying this isn't the FIRST time I've listened to this album. This is actually my 4th time through.
Because it's THAT good.
I'll also go off saying it IS very good but the first time I heard it I actually hated it (With the exception of the song "Peacebone").
Second time, I thought it was actually really good. Third time, I loved it. This time, I thought it was amazing.
So bottom line: it's an album that every time I listen to it I enjoy it more and more.
Everything about it is amazing, all of the songs are great.
There's nothing really to say about it except: It's a little weird, but very good.

Best songs: Peacebone, Cuckoo Cuckoo, and For Reverend Green.

10 out of 10

ALBUM: Hot Fuss

By The Killers!

Okay, so this is the first album of theirs I've listened to, I've heard them on the radio and that but never fully listened to an album.
Brandon Flowers (The singer, keyboardist, lyricist) is great at singing and.. Keyboarding?
All the songs are great, they're all upbeat and catchy.

8/10
Best songs: Change Your Mind, Everything Will Be Alright, Mr. Brightside

MOVIE: Watchmen

I'm gonna start off saying I loved it, but I enjoyed the book more, ALTHOUGH the movie was still fantastic.

Alright, I'll start with the soundtrack. It was fantastic. All the songs were great for the movie and they were terrific, the only sound I disliked was "Desolation Row" by My Chemical Romance.

Next, the action scenes were awesome. They were just awesome. There's nothing to say about this one. It was just great. Everything was made really cool, and the slow-mo parts were bad ass.

Third, the characters were amazing. I loved every single character in the movie. My favorite would be Dr. Manhattan. I didn't picture his voice being that calm in the book, but as I think about it, it really works. I don't think anyone could do it as Billy Crudup did. That said, I don't think ANYONE could do as good as the actors in the movie. They all fit the characters.

Lastly, the adaption was incredible. Some scenes were changed. Some weren't as good as the book, some surpassed it. Some scenes were taken out, but to be honest, you wouldn't really notice it. I only noticed one scene taken out (Which was in my opinion, one of the best) and that was the scene were Rorschach goes back to the apartment. My favorite scene would have to be Dan's dream. It was captured perfectly and I LOVED it.

Everything was great. 9/10 for the movie. I suggest to read the book first, because at the theater I heard a bunch of people saying "That sucked. The blue guy was confusing. Blahblahblah."
